Ever since I can remember I have wanted to be a writer. As a young girl I wrote poems and entered them in competitions and sent them off to publishing companies in the hopes of fulfilling that dream. In school teachers were always very impressed with my abilities, and yet consistent publication eluded me. As I got older I realized that I would have to pursue other jobs and over the years I have been a Jack of all trades. It wasn’t until I had my kids that I really went back to writing. By than blogging had become a common practice and it seemed like the way to make my dream come true. I started blogging a few years ago as Country Mumma, but when our life changed drastically, a fresh start all around seemed in order. In this blog I will explore parenthood, motherhood, womanhood and everything in between. I hope you enjoy it and feel free to drop me a line!
I am married to my best friend with whom I have spent my entire adulthood. We have three beautiful young children – a daughter and twin boys that are only 21 months younger. So our lives have been a whirlwind of bottles, diapers, firsts, and beginning then maintaining school. One of our twins has been recently diagnosed as being on the Autism spectrum and has severe OCD, so along with all the other trials of raising kids, we are navigating the often difficult path of medical appointments, accommodation fights, and everyday struggles that he has the courage to fight through. We move around quit a bit, adding to our adventures. My hobbies include photography (which will be displayed in this blog), yoga and reading. I love being outdoors and try to make time for hiking whenever possible.
As parents we learn to grow and overcome for our kids and ourselves. We make do, get creative and work things out. We play many roles at once and try to find balance in our lives. We have the most difficult job there is – preparing people to be productive members of the world.
