Ever since I can remember I have wanted to be a writer. As a young girl I wrote poems and entered them in competitions and sent them off to publishing companies in the hopes of fulfilling that dream. In school teachers were always very impressed with my abilities, and yet consistent publication eluded me. As I got older I realized that I would have to pursue other jobs and over the years I have been a Jack of all trades. It wasn’t until I had my kids that I really went back to writing. By than blogging had become a common practice and it seemed like the way to make my dream come true. I started blogging about 4 years ago as Country Mumma, but our life has recently changed drastically, so a fresh start all around seemed in order. In this blog I will explore parenthood, motherhood, womanhood and everything in between. I hope you enjoy it and feel free to drop me a line!
I am now in my 30’s and have just gone back to work full-time. I am married to my best friend with whom I have spent my entire adulthood. We have three beautiful young children – a daughter who is 10, and twin boys who are 8. The last 10 years of our lives have been a whirlwind of bottles, diapers, firsts, and beginning school. There were after all only 21 months between our daughter and our twins. We now live in a small town in northern part of our country and are working to make ourselves at home here. My hobbies include photography (which will be displayed in this blog), yoga and reading. I love being outdoors and am looking forward to making time for hiking and hopefully getting into the winter sports again.
As parents we learn to grow and overcome for our kids and ourselves. We make do, get creative and work things out. We play many roles at once and try to find balance in our lives. We have the most difficult job there is – preparing people to be productive members of the world.
